The Treasure Valley Family YMCA has a new presence in Mountain Home. Keyra Elmo, the Y’s Mountain Home Development Coordinator, will be housed in the Western Elmore County Recreation District offices at 245 E. 6th South. Keyra will be the YMCA’s staff representative in Mountain Home. Her first efforts will be to get up to speed on the background of the project and to begin meeting people who have participated in the process to date. She will then begin implementing the work outlined in last summer’s feasibility study. We anticipate that Keyra’s first six months or so will be spent building the community’s understanding of the project, coalition building, and working with the Y to build a case for support in preparation for the future fundraising efforts. Keyra’s office hours will be 8 to 5, Monday through Friday. Keyra is looking forward to meeting community members and to working together to create a YMCA in Mountain Home.
