WECRD - Board of Directors

Jana Borgholthaus:  President.

Mrs. Borgholthaus has been a Director of the WECRD since 2008. She is the owner/manager of several Mountain Home businesses and has been actively involved in the community and her church.  She is the mother of five, and a Mountain Home resident for 40 years.

As Director, Mrs. Borgholthaus has brought enthusiasm and creativity to the District.  She has furthered the District’s communications with the Treasure Valley Family YMCA.  As a result of these actions she now represents the WECRD as liaison between the Treasure Valley Family YMCA and the WECRD in the ongoing consulting process.

Mollie Marsh:  Vice-President.

Ms. Marsh has been on the WECRD Board since its inception in 2001.  Ms. Marsh is a certified teacher and has resided with her family in Mountain Home for over 20 years.  .  She has taught at the Mountain Home secondary schools for many years, as well as being a GED and ESL (English as a Second Language) instructor for ten years.  In 1996, she co-founded “Slide Into the Future”, a fundraising effort to obtain safe playground equipment for the city parks.  Three new playgrounds now grace Richard Aguirre, Carl Miller, and Sunrise Parks.  From 1998 to 2001, she was a member of the Blue Ribbon Committee that formed the Western Elmore County Recreation District.

In 2001, she was appointed by Governor Kempthorne to serve as the first WECRD Director.  Some of her most notable accomplishments on the WECRD Board are:  assisting with the  HUD Federal Appropriations process, which awarded  $579,000 in federal funds to the WECRD to build a recreation/community center,  coordinated  the Environmental Assessment required by HUD on WECRD property to receive federal funds:  supervised the survey  & CLOMR F application to FEMA, Environmental Assessment contract, Tribal & local letters of clearance, Responsible Entity status, infrastructure needs, facility footprint/site elevation – all requirements of the HUD process to receive grant money; developed the  ‘Let’s Play’ grant program for local non-profit youth organizations (groups not affiliated with government entities), and  established  the Recreation Foundation of Elmore County (RFEC), a 501-(c)-3 organization  to serve as the recipient of philanthropic  gifts to the recreation facility .

Scott Sessions: Director

Mr. Sessions was appointed to the Board in April 2012, to fill the vacancy from sub-district I created by the
resignation of Marsha Sellers earlier in the year.He moved to Mountain Home in1996, where he established
his physical therapy practice, Mountain Home Physical Therapy. He has coached locally in the Optimist program and for years has worked closely with the Mountain Home High School sports programs in the care and prevention of sport injuries.

Scott‘s first involvement was as a member of the original Blue Ribbon Committee appointed by Mayor Don Etter in late 1997. Later he served on the Community Leadership Development Committee for the Treasure Valley Family YMCA in their process of potential collaboration with the WECRD.
